Meeting 10th January 2012
Minutes of Meeting held on 10 January 2012 @ 7.15pm at The Life Centre. Romiley.
Present: - Cllr Hazel Lees (Chair), Beryl Smith*, Alan Smith*, Maureen Puckett*, Margaret McLay*, Jill & Louis Lince* & Cllr Syd Lloyd *Residents.
- Apologies from Tracey Adams*, John Ackers*, Sharon MacCambridge- Ackers* & Lisa Brumwell*, Debbie Barraclough*
- Minutes of the Meeting on 1st November 2011 were accepted.
- Treasurers Report: - Balance now £8910.29 after Web site payment of £82.50.
4. Play Area
- Two small items now fixed. Waiting for dry weather to complete the floor markings.

- Rubbish bin still to be installed. Outstanding/JL
- JL had confirmed that the new Signboard is in the stores and will be fixed during the installation of the new equipment. Outstanding/JL. Cllr HL to chase.
- AS to establish current total of the commuted sums. What will it buy and should we seek more funds for better equipment?
- Cllr HL & Cllr SL reported on the planning approval for flats at No2 Sandy Lane. This will produce a further commuted sum. How much and when?
5. Action Plan.

- Efforts continue to source a flagpole. TA has requested a sign for the front noticeboard from Richard Booker. Outstanding.
- TA / AS to arrange meeting with JL/AH to update the plan.
- Centre Bed – Just a few plants still required. JL has ordered and will be planted in “2 weeks”. JL recommended wood chippings to be spread next spring.
- Straighten Christmas tree /AH.
- “Tree Work” by Anthony Cross in 2012/13?
- Entrance Arch – AS to obtain further details and costs prior to fundraising.
- Memorial seat – Seat approved, awaiting fixing. MP provided plaque wording.
- Dog Fouling – Agreed to continue to highlight the problem.
- Hedge Cutting – all completed except beech hedge along school boundary. Ask JL.
- It was agreed that an additional bin by the new seat would reduce litter.
- Planting Tubs – planted as agreed and looking good.
- HL seeking tub planters for the rear of the park.
- Memorial seat installed.
- JL will sort out her tee shirt.
7. Events
- Christmas Event – washed out. Thanks to Sainsbury’s, Gainsborough Galleries and Morrison’s for their generous support.
- Easter Egg Hunt to be arranged on 7 April 2012.
- Baton Passing – Next meeting 6 February. Press & Publicity action plan.
- FRP to form a sub-committee to deal with the event. LB has volunteered.
- HL reported that Friends of Tangshut had received a grant from the Area Committee and it was anticipated that FRP would be applying.
8. Exercise Circuit - Advice on equipment & costs required from RB.
Committee Meeting on 6th March 7pm at Life Centre. HL expressed thanks to the Life Centre for continued use of their premises.
Task Days – 28 JANUARY 10.00 till Noon. Weeding and tidying –up centre circle.
25 February 10.00 till Noon Compost on centre bed & tidy side beds.
