postheadericon Meeting 5th July 2011

Minutes of Meeting held on 05th July 2011 @ 7.00pm at The Life Centre. Romiley.

Present: -Tracey Adams* (Chair), Beryl Smith*, Alan Smith*, Maureen Puckett & Rosie Sanderson*. *Residents.

1. Apologies from Sharon MacCambridge-Ackers*, John Ackers*, Debbie Barraclough, & Lisa Brumwell.

2. Minutes of the Meeting on 10 May 2011 were accepted as a true record.

3. Treasurers Report: - Previous balance is £8906.14. £250 received from Charities Trust

(RBS/Tracey Adams), balance now £9156.14. JA’s offer to continue as Treasurer was accepted. AS to visit bank and seek to open a suitable deposit account with the same signatories.

4. Play Area

TA & RS have met Gareth Davies and Richard Booker in the park to discuss new equipment & floor markings.

AS tabled details forwarded details received today from Rebecca Nedeljkovic. TA & RS stated these were not as agreed. AS to respond.

A new rubbish bin and cycle rack will be installed at the front of play area. Outside the main gate. – Outstanding.

New Signboard required. “No ball games” and “no cycles” signs required.

Weedkiller required in the play area.

5. Action Plan / Green Flag ? TA / AS met with Jonathan Long. Actions agreed and park looked fantastic for the Green Flag inspection.

Planting Tubs – permanent plants will be provided by SMBC in the autumn but Mr & Mrs Mckinnon have donated £20 for summer planting this year. BS/AS to action.

Centre Bed – Shrubs and perennials will be planted in the autumn. Details awaited from JL.

Optician’s bed – wood chippings required from P&L.

Entrance Arch – price of £5/6000 received. Agreed in principle to proceed subject to

fundraising and final design/cost.

Bulbs will be provided in autumn to plant along the boundary of Carlton Ave.

Memorial seat – Agreed Ironwoodman price too expensive. County Gates price possible

subject to design. AS to obtain details.

AS requested to write to MIA Community Fund explaining failure of plants in the centre

circle and offering a visit after the autumn replanting.

Dog Fouling - Agreed to make it more of an issue. AS to obtain 30 copies of the posters

designed by the children. After lamination to be placed around the park. In addition “Dog

Pooh markers to highlight the incidents.

6. Lighting - Why are only 50% of the lights working? AS to contact M. McLay.

7. Events Christmas Event confirmed for Friday 9th December at 3.15pm. TA has confirmed with Romiley

Primary School Band. MP to contact Father Christmas. Senior choir?? Other music? ? Tree Lights at SK Solutions ? Catering – check Coffee 4 U. Mince pies and biscuits from local traders.

TA reported on a “Baton Passing” event connected with the Olympic Games. Activity Day

is 7 July 2012. TA will attend meeting on 25 July for further details.

8. Exercise Circuit. TA outlined proposals for an exercise circuit. Awaiting RB response outstanding.

9 Web Site Following problems with the server we are now back on line.

10 Next Meeting – 6 September 2011 7pm at the Life Centre. TA expressed thanks to the Life Centre for continued use for our meetings.

11 Task Days – 30 JULY 10.00 till Noon. Stock Dove bed & woodchip.
